A two-knife version of our popular carbon steel puukko. Ideal for bushcraft, hiking and woodworking.

With its carbon steel blade, the Lapinvuolu (Finnish for “Lapland’s carver”) is a traditional, versatile puukko. You can get the blade very sharp with an ordinary whetstone, with no need for a diamond sharpener. This double set includes two Lapinvuolu knives, one with a 95 mm blade and one with a 60 mm blade. The larger one is a proper all-round knife. The smaller one handles precise detail work or use by a child.

  • Carbon steel blades, 95 mm and 60 mm
  • Blades made by Laurin Metalli Oy, Kauhava, Finland
  • Brass bolsters
  • Handles made of curly birch and reindeer bone
  • Leather sheath with a slot for each knife

During manufacturing, a carbon layer is left on the surface of the Lapinvuolu blades. It wears off with use.

Carbon steel is easy to sharpen to a keen edge, but it needs a little more care than stainless steel. Dry the blade straight after use and oil it now and then with an unsalted oil.

Knives with synthetic handles all look the same. Wooden handles are different, as the grain pattern is always unique, so your knife won’t look exactly like the one in the product photo. Please note that a grain pattern that differs from the photo isn’t grounds for exchanging the knife for another one.
